Today is National Coffee Day, and as I sit here drinking a 20 oz cup of Folger’s Colombian (with just a splash of Silk almond milk), I have to tip my hat to the pioneers who saw the potential of boiling those wild beans and drinking the decoction. I’ve read many articles over the years about the health effects, pro and con, of my morning ritual, but nothing has convinced me that this pleasure should be a guilty one. I have always been a morning person, but having spent considerable time around those who are not (and you know who you are), I will always be truly grateful for this brew.
