For years I’ve been driving past this old pair of barns located between just south of Teaselville on FM 346 and have always been curious about them. So recently I stopped to chat with a couple who were mowing and trimming the giant sycamore tree out front. Bruce Stripling is the grandson of J. A. Blow, who built the first barn in 1898 and the other in 1899. Both are in remarkably good shape; one of the barns is a three-story, with chutes for dropping feed to the livestock below. Bruce’s mother still lives on the property. These barns have been the settings for many photo shoots and several weddings.
