My friend Ben Jarvis and I were having lunch yesterday at Thee Kafe in Arp (on our way to show some acreage in Rusk County near Turnertown) when I noticed the light and wall behind Ben cried out for a portrait. I didn’t have my camera, so this is an iPhone image, but it’s one I like. Ben is an 86-year-old East Texan, a lawyer and former legislator, who is a great raconteur and a better bridge player. I thoroughly enjoy his company and am never more content than when we’re driving around in the country and he is telling me stories from his long history with this area.
