Father’s Day 2011

We followed him into the woods with the knives and guns he gave us; we followed him around lakes, up and down creeks and rivers. He taught us to clean squirrels, deer, and fish. How to take our guns and reels apart, clean them, oil them, and put them back together (with no spare parts). He taught us about girls, cars, and doing what we said we’d do. He wasn’t perfect, but as I get older I understand he did his best to be a good father, and that is about all any of us can hope to do.
